Jersey Sporting News covered the 2022 NPC Muscle Beach Championship live from Monmouth Regional High School yesterday. NPC stands for National Physique Committee which is the premier amateur physique organization in the world. Since 1982, the top athletes in bodybuilding, fitness, figure, bikini and physique have started their careers in the NPC. Many of those athletes graduated to successful careers in the IFBB professional league, a list that includes 24 Olympians and 38 Arnold classic winners.
NPC athletes are regularly featured in and on the covers of international publications such as Flex, Muscular Development, Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers and FitnessRx for women and ironmen. It is not uncommon to see major professional athletes and a-list celebrities such as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson appearing at these events. NPC news online is the command center for everything NPC and is the official website for the National Physique Committee. The NPC is comprised of tens of thousands of competitors and hundreds of live events.
The NPC is not just hardcore bodybuilding. The new men's physique and women's bikini categories make up the majority of competitors in most contests around the country, and they have launched the NPC into the mainstream. The competitors in these divisions can be seen in national magazines, ad campaigns and etc. The NPC is unique in that it has both a mainstream and hardcore social media reach.
Men's bodybuilding, figure, bikini, men's physique, men's classic physique, women's bodybuilding, women's physique, teenage, junior division and wellness were the categories in the competition yesterday.
They did a great job breaking down each division with putting numbers to the people's names which made it easier to keep track. These competitors were focused, locked in, the coaches made sure they didn't get distracted quick. The turnout was great with their family, friends and production people in attendance to support them in a big way.
