Day Two of New Jersey Public Sectional Track Championships

Day Two of the New Jersey public sectional championships was back in full effect on Saturday morning around New Jersey with no weather delays. Much history was made, with records being broken by such great talent on the track.

The day's biggest news came from South Sectional Group 4, with freshman Sianni Wynn from Pennsauken High School winning the girl's 400-meters running 54.0. That time is the third-fastest time in state history and the fourth-fastest for a freshman this season. The talented freshman will run at the group championship next weekend.

In the South Sectional Group 2, Pleasantville and Manchester Township High School had a great day in the boys' 400-meter dash. Each school had four out of the top five runners from that event. The winner was senior Xander Roberts-Bogin from Pleasantville, running a top-10 time in NJ of 48.51.

Nathaniel Rayan from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School showed up and showed out. The Clemson commit a 13.63 in the boy's 110-meter hurdles in the North 2 Group 4 sectional, as Rayan will run next weekend at group championships.

In the North 1 Group 2 sectional, junior Morgan Levine ran 12.52 in the girl's 100-meter dash. Freshman Jenna Monaco from Dumont set a personal record in the girl's 100 Group 2 Sectional, running a 12.62. Both will advance to next weekend's group championship.

Central Group 2 girls had one of the day's most competitive public sectional championships, separating first and second place by 16 points. In the girl's Group 2 400-meter dash, Rumson-Fair Haven and Point Pleasant Boro high school had the top three spots. All three were underclassmen; two were sophomores, and one was a freshman.

Point Pleasant Boro High School had sophomore Abigail Haneman come in second place in the Central Group 2 girl's 400-meter dash running a top-50 state time in 58.26. Rumson-Fair Haven High School had freshman Reese Reynolds Malone placing third, running 58.85, with sophomore Clemmie Lilley running a top 10 state time in 56.57 to finish first.

Both schools will advance to the Central Group 2 championship next week. Point Pleasant Boro finished first with 128 points, and Rumson-Fair Haven came second with 112 points. Rumson-Fair Haven boys came in second in Central Group 2 for the boys with 77 points, following behind first place in Ocean Township high school with 89 points.

West Windsor-Plainsboro North won the girls' Central Group 3 Sectional championship with 101 points, while Middletown North won the boy's Central Group 3 sectional championship back-to-back years with 77 points.

Shore Regional won the Central Group 1 girl's sectional championship with 135 points, and their boys finished in third place in the Central Group 1 with 62 points. Jonathan Dayton High School won Central Group 1 with boys with 99 points, and their girls came in second place with 119 points. Hillsborough won the Central Group 4 girl's sectional championships grandly, scoring 148.50 points, and South Brunswick high school won dominantly for the boys scoring 122 points.

From the North 1 Group 1, Hasbrouck Heights high school won the girl's sectional championship in an outstanding performance, scoring 144.83 points, and Hasbrouck Heights won the Group 1 boys scoring 127 points. Ridgewood won the girls' and boys' sectional championships in the North 1 Group 4. The girls won, scoring 99.75, and the boys tied for first place with Livingston high school finishing 95 points.

River Dell girls won North 1 Group 2 over NV-Demarest, 135.25 to 131.50 points, but NV-Demarest High School won the boy's title with a tremendous performance, scoring 168 points. NV-Old Tappan won the girls' and boys' North 1 Group 3 sectionals championship. The girls scored 114.50 points, while the boys scored 88 points.

In the North 1 Group 1 sectional, Whippany Park won both girls and boys convincingly, scoring 125 points for the girls and 148 for the boys. Elizabeth won the girl's North 1 Group 4 big, scoring 112 points, and the boys came in second place, scoring 61 points, followed by first place winner Westfield high school scoring 78 points in Group 4.

Parsippany Hills won the North 2 Group 2 girls scoring 105 points, and Parsippany high school won the boys scoring 79 points. In the North 2 Group 3, North Hunterdon and Somerville high school tied for the girls' first place, scoring 104 points, and Chatham high school won the boy's Group 3, scoring 90.40 points.

In the South sectional Group 2, Haddonfield Memorial high school won the Group 2 girls scoring 154 points, and Manchester Township won the Group 2 boys scoring 108 points. Winslow Township high school won the girl's South Group 3 sectional championship scoring 104 points, and Delsea Regional high school won the boy's Group 3, scoring 82.

Clayton girls won the South Group 1 sectional championship, and Glassboro High School won the Boys South Group 1. Eastern won the girls' South Group 4 sectional championship, and Peensauken high school won the boys' South Group 4.

The group championship will be held on Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 10, at Franklin and Delsea High School.
