On Monday, U.S. Soccer announced that Gotham FC defender Imani Dorsey would be joining the U.S. Women's National Team for a training camp and two friendlies at the end of the month in Australia. Dorsey will join her Gotham teammate Margaret Purce on the 23 player roster.
This is not Dorsey's first brush with the national team, although she has yet to earn a cap. In 2019, she was called up to two training camps, including the December Identification Training Camp.

Imani Dorsey has been a pivotal and versatile part of the Gotham FC organization since she was drafted by the team as the number 5 overall pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft. She began her club career as a forward, and was named Rookie of the Year with four goals and one assist in 13 appearances.
In subsequent seasons, Dorsey switched to playing as a left back. This year, she provided consistent defense for a club that defied the odds with impressive defensive performances.
Dorsey's accolades stretch beyond the pitch. She is also an ambassador for Athlete Ally and a board member of the Black Women's Player Collective.
