Jordan Rosario of Jersey City scored a sixth-round TKO of Pinebrook's Nicky "The Bull" Vitone in the main event of the six-bout Bergen County Fight Night 3 at The Terrace at Biagio in Paramus on Saturday.
Rosario's win, at 143 pounds, came in a rematch of a July 31, 2021 bout between the two at Prudential Center, won by Rosario (5-10-0, 1 KO) by split decision. Rosario floored Vitone twice to finish off the first knockout win of his pro-career. Referee Sparkle Lee ended the bout in the sixth round at the 2:11 mark.
“It’s an amazing feeling. I’m just gonna dwell on it and continue to build and do better and better in each and every fight that I can,” said Rosario.
Vitone falls to 9-2-1, 7 KO with the defeat.
In the co-main event, at 147 pounds, fellow Jersey City native Mike Lee (10-2-0, 7 KO) scored a unanimous decision over Puerto Rico's Antonio Sanchez (7-17-3, 3 KO) in the six round bout.
Other winners on the night, which was heavy with New Jersey combatants and promoted by Garden State based Abella Boxing Promotions, were Raymond "The Scientist" Cuadrado of Queens, Christian Otero of New York and Bergenfield's Kevin Hernandez. There was also a split decision draw between Ridgefield Park's Dane Guerrero and Philadelphia native Andre Hinnon.
“Shows like this are the backbone of the sport,” promoter Scott Abella said.
