Sandro Mamukelashvili, Seton Hall

Sandro Mamukelashvili Unanimous All-Big East Selection

In a season of change for Seton Hall, one constant has been the play of Sandro Mamukelashvili. The senior forward has been a leader for the Pirates following the graduation of Myles Powell. On Sunday, he was rewarded.

Mamukelashvili, along with Villanova's Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, was unanimously named to the All-Big East First Team. For Seton Hall, this was the fifth time in the last six seasons that a Pirate player was voted First Team All-Big East. Sandro joins an elite list that includes Angel Delgado, Isiah Whitehead, and Myles Powell.

The 6'11" forward finished the season second in the Big East in scoring (17.8 points) and sixth in rebounding (7.3) rebounds. During his time in South Orange, "Mamu" has become one of the country's most versatile players. His three-point shooting and ability to dominate inside made him one of the most dangerous players in the Big East, as evidenced by his two 30-point outings this season.

NBA Future for Mamukelashvili

After last season, Mamukelashvili explored forgoing his senior season and moving to the NBA. With this honor, his stock may go up as he currently sits as the 55th ranked prospect according to Hoops Hype.

Bergen Catholic's own Zach Freemantle was named to the All-Big East Second Team after leading the conference with nine rebounds per game to go with 16.3 points per game. The former First Team All-Bergen County forward led Xavier to a 13-7 mark this season.
