Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

It has finally happened. The Jets are above .500 for the first time since forever.

The New York Jets defeated the Miami Dolphins by the final score of 40-17. The Jets' defense really stepped it up as they took out QB Teddy Bridgwater in the first quarter and took full advantage of the Dolphins' mistakes. However, it was far from a perfect game. With that in mind, here are The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly for the Jets game.

The Good:

Running Back Breece Hall Running Wild: Another week. Another game RB Breece Hall is getting better. Hall has his best game as a pro as he rushed for 96 yards on 17 carries with one touchdown. Like I said in my last game preview, Hall continues to improve his game and quickly is becoming a candidate for NFL Rookie of The Year.

Zach Wilson's Play: Although the numbers don't show it, Wilson played a great game last Sunday as he threw for 210 yards with one rushing touchdown. So far in the season, Wilson only has one touchdown and two interceptions but he is getting the clutch plays in. Also, the running game has been on fire lately. Why change the offensive play style?

Sauce Gardner's First Interception: The legend of Sauce Gardner continues to grow as the young cornerback recorded the first interception of his career. Speaking of the Jets Secondary....

DJ Reed and Sauce Gardner Becoming Elite: No they are not All Elite Wrestling bound but both DJ Reed and Sauce Gardner are quickly becoming the best cornerback duo in the league. Here are some stats for both Gardner and Reed:

Last week's game against the Steelers:

Gardner: Two receptions for 7 yards, zero first downs

Reed: Three receptions for 23 yards, one first down

The duo is growing.

The Bad:

Jets Rushing Defense: The Jets' rushing defense wasn't on their A-game this game as they allowed 137 rushing yards to the Dolphins' run game (RB Raheem Mostert had 113 rushing yards). The Jets' rushing defense is 16th in the league in opponent rushing yards per game, allowing 114.4 rushing yards per game. That needs to be improved.

The Dolphins QB Concussion Situation: QB Teddy Bridgewater left yesterday's afternoon game with a concussion. Starter Tua Tagovailoa missed the game against the Jets. The Dolphins have serious concussion issues on their team and there is no need for them to be rushed back.

The Ugly:

The dolphins' overall defense: It seems like they gave up after Teddy Bridgewater went down.

Three Stars Of The Game:

QB Zach Wilson: 210 yards, zero touchdowns zero interceptions

RB Breece Hall: 16 carries, 97 yards, one touchdown

CB Sauce Gardner: One interception
