Monmouth Women's Basketball Loses at William & Mary

Graduate student Bri Tinsley scored a game-high of 30 points and Lucy Thomas, also a graduate student, became the 18th player in the program’s history to score 1,000 career points, but it was not enough to defeat William & Mary on Feb. 5. William & Mary defeated the Hawks with a final score of 73-68.

Tinsley had 16 points at the half and finished with a career-high 30 points in the game, along with five assists and three rebounds. She made 10 field goals in the game, including six from behind the arc. Tinsley also scored double figures in a game for the team-leading 13th time this season. 

Thomas finished with 9 points in the game. She scored her 1,000th point in her 119th career game played and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds in the contest.

Monmouth won the rebounding battle, 40-31 as  nine Hawks grabbed at least one board in the game. The Hawks had 10 made three-pointers in the game, including six from Tinsley. Monmouth had a 17-12 edge in second chance points in the game. There were two lead changes and four ties in the game.

Monmouth is back on the court on Sunday, Feb. 12 when it hosts Drexel University for a 3 p.m. game.
