Week 6 Preview: New York Jets vs Green Bay Packers

The real test begins.

After defeating the Miami Dolphins in Week 5, the Jets are eager to keep their winning streak alive as they face their toughest test yet: Traveling to Green Bay to take on Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. The Jets have a grueling two weeks as they face the Packers this week and then next week, they head to Denver to face the Broncos. With that in mind, here is the Week 6 preview for the fight at Green Bay.

What To Expect:

  • The Jets are above .500: The Jets are currently 3-2 through five games. The last time they have been above .500? 2018. Yes, it's been a very long time!
  • The breakout of RB Breece Hall: Rookie Breece Hall is coming off his best game as a pro as he set a Jets rookie record with 197 scrimmage yards last week against the Dolphins. The Packers' run defense has been putrid, they are ranked 22nd in the league in run defense and are allowing 4.97 yards per carry this season. It doesn't seem like much but according to Pro Football Reference, that is historically bad.
  • QB Zack Wilson's progression: It's been two weeks since Zach Wilson's return and although his numbers aren't fantastic, he has made the clutch plays to keep this winning streak alive. Will he have his breakout game against the Packers?

Just The Facts:

  • The Packers have won three straight over the Jets. Their last win? 2014 at Lambeau in a 31-24 win.
  • This is the first time since 2018 that the Packers played the Jets and Giants in the same season. The Packers lost to the Giants last week in London.
  • In the last three games, the Packers won via single digits

Five Big Questions to Ask:

  • Will there be a shootout between QB Aaron Rodgers and QB Zach Wilson?
  • How will RB Breece Hall do against the Packers' run defense?
  • Will WR Garett Wilson have a big game?
  • Can the Jets keep up their momentum?
  • Will CB Sauce Gardner have a field day with the Packers' lack of wide receiver depth?

Who is on the Injury Report?

Questionable: OT Duane Brown (Shoulder), OLB Carl Lawson (Ankle), ILB CJ Mosley (Hip) ILB Quincy Williams (Ankle) DE Jermaine Johnson II (Ankle)

Prediction: When the schedule came out, I had the Jets losing this game because of QB Aaron Rodgers. However, I have changed my mind. I think after the Giants game, Green Bay has been exposed especially in their play calling. I think Breece Hall will have a career game and the Jets get the win.

Final Score: Jets 30 Packers 27
