NJ/NY Gotham FC Off-Season Player Tracker

Jersey Sporting News will track the players coming in and out of NJ/NY Gotham FC. This will include trades, loans, and new signings.

Oct. 11, 2022:

Goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff will join Brisbane Roar FC on loan for the 2022-23 Liberty A-League season in Australia. Hancuff will join the Australian team in November and will join Gotham again for the 2023 NWSL season.

Oct. 14, 2022:

Domi Richardson, Kumi Yokoyama, Nicole Baxter and Jennifer Cudjoe will not be returning for the 2023 NWSL season. Baxter, Yokoyama, and Cudjoe's contracts were not renewed, and the club did not exercise Richardson's contract option.

Oct. 17, 2022:

Gotham re-signed forward/defender Taylor Smith to a three-year contract through the 2025 season.

Oct. 25, 2022:

Gotham re-signed forward Ifeoma Onumonu to a three-year contract through the 2025 season.

Nov. 3, 2022:

Gotham re-signed defender Mandy Freeman to a two-year contract through the 2024 season.

Nov. 14, 2022:

Goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris announced her retirement at the USWNT Players' Ball. Harris was a two-time World Cup champion and has played in the league since the beginning. She played in 13 total games for Gotham and recorded three clean sheets. Harris is now the Global Creative Advisor for the NY/NJ team.

Nov. 28, 2022:

Gotham announces the signing of free agent goalkeeper Abby Smith to a three-year contract. She was drafted to the Boston Breakers in 2016 before spending time with the Utah Royals, FC/Kansas City and most recently, the Portland Thorns, where she helped win the 2022 NWSL Championship. Smith is the third goalkeeper on Gotham's roster.

Dec. 1, 2022:

Free agent and New Jersey native Kristen Edmonds signed with Gotham FC for a two-year contract. Edmonds, a Metuchen native, joins the team after being with the Kansas City Current for the last two NWSL seasons. Before her time with the Current, the defender played with the Orlando Pride and the Western New York Flash.
