NJ/NY Gotham FC will look to ride the wave of momentum from their win in Orlando into Tuesday's matchup with NWSL rival, the North Carolina Courage, in what is one of the more anticipated Challenge Cup games.
“It’s always going to be a test, but this is the test we want to play and we want to be able to prove ourself against strong teams in the league. I think we’ve prepared ourselves well. We know how they’re going to turn up, I think they’re very consistent in the way they play. There is very few surprises. We know they’re going to be very high pressing, be able to put us under a lot of pressure, but I think everyone in this squad is very excited by that thought and is ready for the game,” said Head Coach Freya Coombe.
With the return of international stars for both teams, it's going to be an even more intriguing match-up, especially as a win for either team puts them in the driver's seat to clinch the Eastern Division.
