Pirates bolster front court through transfer portal

Seton Hall took another step towards filling their men’s basketball roster for next season. Jaden Bediako has decided to to take his talents to South Orange from Santa Clara, to help bolster the Pirates' front court. The 6-foot-10 big man averaged six points and five rebounds per game in twenty-three minutes last season for the Broncos.

Bediako was one of the West Coast Conference top shot-blockers last season, averaging a block per game. Against Seton Hall foe DePaul last season, Bediako poured in 14 points and nine rebounds in a 69-61 win. Bediako brings much needed rim protection and depth to the Seton Hall front court.

With the addition of Bediako, Seton Hall now has four remaining scholarships for next season. Kadary Richmond, Al-Amir Dawes, Dylan Addae-Wusu, Jaquan Sanders and JaQuan Harris will make up the Pirates' back court. Dre Davis is the primary wing for Seton Hall, but will also be relied on to help contribute in the front court as he did last season. The Pirates front court will be comprised of transfers Bediako and Elijah Hutchins-Everett, along with freshman David Tubek.

Seton Hall head coach Shaheen Holloway is expected to use his remaining scholarships. Today, Seton Hall hosted class of 2023 shooting guard Isaiah Coleman on an official visit. The 6-foot-5 four star recruit was previously committed to the College of Charleston. Another name to monitor is Saint Peter’s guard Jaylen Murray, who just recently entered the transfer portal. The sophomore averaged 12.5 points and 2.3 assists this past season for the Peacocks. Murray is a realistic addition to run the second unit for the Pirates behind Richmond.
