Princeton dominates Brown to improve to 18-4 on the season

Princeton faced off against Brown on Friday for their second conference matchup, winning 88-42. Princeton came into the matchup with a ten-game win streak and a 35 game winning streak in Ivy League play. Guard Abby Meyers led the Tigers to victory with 25 points, four steals, and a season-high four assists.

Both teams started off the game strong offensively. The first quarter ended 14-14, where Meyers led with eight points. The second quarter saw a similar performance by both teams. Meyers scored five points in the quarter, while Brown’s Kyla Jones posted seven points.

Princeton held Brown to 11 points to go into halftime with a nine-point lead. Princeton had 19 rebounds and shot 38% from the field in the first half, and Brown’s 16 turnovers gave an advantage to the Tigers.

Coming back from halftime, the Tigers immediately made an impact on the game. Princeton started with 16 unanswered points in the first five minutes. Meyers provided nine points in that run and another two later in the quarter. The Tigers held Brown to six points in the third quarter as they led 64-31. The fourth quarter saw 24 points scored by the Tigers to secure the win against the Bears. Brown scored only 11 points in the final quarter, which was not nearly enough to catch the Tigers.

Princeton moved 18-4 overall and improved to 10-0 in conference play, extending their Ivy League unbeaten streak to 36 games.
