Princeton improves record to 8-4 after beating Harvard 68-50

Princeton women’s basketball continued their season with a conference win against 6-7 Harvard, improving their overall record to 8-4. 

The first quarter showed an even match between the two Ivy League teams. The Tigers ended the quarter with a two point lead. Julia Cunningham led the quarter with five points while Ellie Mitchell stood out defensively with four rebounds and a steal.

The second half held a different story. The Tigers held Crimson to 10 points while adding 19 points on their first half score of 12. Heading into halftime, Princeton held the advantage with a score of 31-22.

Coming back from halftime, the Tigers scored 23 points and kept up their defensive game, holding Harvard to just nine points in the third quarter. Princeton forced Crimson to go 1-of-15 from the floor ending the quarter 54-31.

The fourth quarter was seen as a struggle for the Tigers as the Crimson scored 19 points to 14. Guard Abby Meyers led the Tigers with a double-double scoring 19 points and tallying 11 rebounds.
