Princeton Defeats Manasquan to Win the Central Group B Final

Princeton High School took on Manasquan High School in the final round of the NJSIAA Central, Group B swimming tournament. Princeton handed Manasquan their first loss of the season, winning 111-59.

Kyleigh Tangen led Princeton with four wins on the evening. Courtney Weber and Beatrice Cai both had three wins for Princeton, and Dylann Eldridge won two of her events for Manasquan.

The 200-yard medley relay kicked off the meet. Sabine Ristad, Weber, Cai and Tangen took first place for Princeton (1:50.61), followed by Summer Sakowicz, Bennett DeVincens, Dylann Eldridge and Ryan McLaughlin taking second for Manasquan (1:54.49).

The 200-yard freestyle came next with Eldridge taking first for Manasquan (1:58.64) and teammate Kylie Spalt taking third, while Annie Flanagan took second for Princeton (1:58.88).

Weber won the 200-yard individual medley at 2:09.18, while Cai took second with a time of 2:14.01. Sakowicz took third with a 2:16.94.

Tangen grabbed her second win of the meet in the 50-yard freestyle (24.51). McLaughlin took second with a time of 25.09, and Annie Zhao took third (25.29) for Princeton.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Cai took first (59.44), followed by teammate Lauren Girouard (59.98) and Bennett DeVincens in third for Manasquan clocking in at 1:02.58.

Princeton followed up sweeping first, second and third place in the 100-yard freestyle. Tangen took first (53.04), Zhao in second (54.23) and Flanagan in third (55.68).

Eldridge stopped Princeton's first-place streak as she took the win the 500-yard freestyle going (5:15.15). Jessie Wang  took second for Princeton (5:16.75) and Splat followed in third for Manasquan (5:16.97).

The 200-yard freestyle relay took place next with Girouard, Zhao, Flanagan, Tangen taking the win (1:42.62) for Princeton. Maddie Ireland, Zoe Petrella, McLaughlin, Eldridge followed behind for Manaquan with a 1:45.95.

Wang took the win in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.77) to keep adding points to Princeton's score. Sabine Ristad took second (1:01.91) and Sakowicz took third (1:02.84).

Weber grabbed her third win of the meet in the 100-yard breastroke (1:06.54) followed by teammate Nia Zagar (1:09.87). DeVincens took third for Manasquan (1:10.17).

For the final event of the meet, Princeton went one-two with Ristad, Zhao, Flanagan and Cai winning the 400-yard freestly relay with a time of 3:44.86, and Suri Skomra, Rachel McInerney, Girouard and Wang taking second (3:50.78,) securing the win.
