Princeton moves to 7-0 in Ivy League after win over Cornell

Princeton faced off against Cornell on Friday for their second conference matchup of the season. Princeton won both matchups, winning 65-41 in the first game and 75-37 in the second. Guard Grace Stone led the Tigers to victory with 14 points and a season-high seven rebounds and five assists.

Princeton started off the game strong with solid play both offensively and defensively. In the first quarter, they outscored Cornell by 13, ending the quarter 13-5. Princeton's six offensive rebounds allowed them to succeed on their scoring drives. The second quarter saw a similar performance by the Tigers. In the quarter, Stone led the way with eight points going 4-of-5 from the free-throw line as the Tigers held Big Red to 14 points to go into halftime with a 21 point lead. Princeton had 21 rebounds and 46.2% field goals in the first half. Cornell's ten turnovers gave the advantage to the Tigers.

Coming back from halftime, both teams came out scoring, but the Tigers scored nine compared to Big Red's four in the first three minutes of the game. Princeton's Abby Meyers provided five points in the quarter as well. Cornell's Kaya Ingram added two points to the away team's score, increasing her total to eight. The fourth quarter saw 20 points scored by the Tigers to secure the win against Big Red. Cornell had five different scorers in the quarter, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

Princeton's win took them to 15-4 overall and 7-0 in conference play while also extending their Ivy League win streak to 33 games.
