Red Bulls preparing to right the ship at CF Montreal

After that dreadful performance at Soldier Field in Chicago last weekend, the New York Red Bulls are preparing for another big road game on their schedule.  They will re-enter the country of Canada to take on the club that use to be known as the Montreal Impact, as they will be known as CF Montreal, or in better terms Club de Football Montreal.

The change of the club name means little much, but more of a better football brand identity in the mind of Joey Saputo, as he wants to be a bit more streamlined with the modern times. But the Red Bulls only know one thing, they want to get back to playing their way and take home three points to put their season back on track.

After one season of Thierry Henry running the club and heading back to Europe, Montreal promoted assistant coach Wilfried Nancy to Head Coach. So far he has Montreal behind the playoff line with 23 points in 18 matches played, so far this will be a big task for the Red Bulls as they haven't won at Stade Saputo since Montreal expanded to MLS.

"In the last few weeks, we realized we got the results that we didn't want," said Gerhart Struber. "We are seeing the stats in what we are creating from our philosophy, we are trying to do things the right way, but sadly we've gone stupid in the end. We know the boys are ready for the right results and, in training, this is showing me some positives. We have some big challenges this Saturday, but we need to pick up the points here right now."

For Sean Davis, this is his second season as Captain of the Red Bulls. While coming up thru the academy, he has been involved with big matches, timely goals, and winning a Supporters Shield. He's been led by three different Captains when he got called up from Red Bulls two.

While being frustrated with this season so far, what has he learned from the previous captains like Dax McCarty, Sacha Kljestan, and Luis Robles that he could use to try and get out of the funk his current teammates are in at this moment of the season.

"When I think back to my time with Dax, Sasch, and Luis, the makeup of the team was different. You had a lot of experience guys who have gone thru the ups and downs of the season," said Davis, "You just have to relay that message to the group. As cliche as it sounds, you can't get too high and, you can't get too low, and you have to grind through the tough moments.

"All you have to do is show up the right way, and train hard, and create your own luck. It's letting the guys know that. Things are tough right now, but it's part of our story currently. It's important to get that message through right now."

With the huge news this past week of the departure of Lionel Messi going from Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain, I remember how Sean Davis did create or had some luck when he was a part of the Red Bulls U-18 academy team back in 2010 when Argentina was playing the USA in a March International Friendly at Met Life Stadium, but he wasn't apart of Bob Bradley's side.

The Red Bulls got a phone call as the Argentina Football Federation asked the club to play against their  U-18 squad for a training session at the New York Football Giants training facility. Davis faced Messi and the top players of Argentina back then.

But now it's time for the Red Bulls to get ready for a huge road game as they take on Montreal at the Stade Saputo too right this sinking ship and fast.
