Former Rutgers star Ron Harper, Jr. made his first appearance in an NBA regular season game Monday night. The forward came off the bench and played the final nine+ minutes in the Toronto Raptors 139-109 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
By entering the game, Harper became the 14th former Scarlet Knight to appear in the NBA game. He missed his only shot attempt, a three-pointer.
After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, Harper signed a two-way deal with Toronto. He averaged 9.2 points and five rebounds in five Summer League games.
Harper's performance in the NBA Preseason was not as good. In three preseason games, he scored just two total points, grabbed three rebounds, registered an assist and committed four fouls. He did however make the Raptors roster to start the 2022 NBA season.
Monday night was Harper's first appearance, in the seventh game of the season, for the Raptors. Toronto is 4-3 on the season.
