Rowan dominates Rutgers-Newark to improve to 8-5

Rowan hosted Rutgers-Newark on Saturday for their seventh conference game of the NJAC women’s basketball season winning 94-61. Leading up to this matchup, the Profs won four of their last five games while the Scarlet-Raiders came into the matchup with a five game losing streak.

The first half saw a dominant performance from the Profs. Rowan’s Dakota Adams led the half with 10 points and Rutgers-Newark's Kellie Martinez was close behind with 9 points. Adams went 5-8 from the paint and had four offensive rebounds. The Profs led the first quarter 27-14 and the second quarter 50-32. Rowan’s dominant play allowed them to go into half with a 18 point lead. 

The second half entailed an overall dominant performance by the home team. They dominated the third quarter scoring 20 points and only allowing five against. The fourth quarter allowed the Scarlet-Raiders to score 24 points, but it wasn’t enough to close the 33 point deficit.

Rowan ended the game winning 94-61 to add onto their winning streak and increase their conference record to 6-1.
