Saint Peters ease past Marist 58-45

Saint Peters faced off against Marist on Sunday for their eighth MAAC game of the season winning 58-45. Guard Kendrea Williams led the Peacocks to victory with 23 points, four rebounds and five steals. 

Saint Peters started off the game with 14 points in the first quarter while holding Marist to nine points. Williams contributed six points for the Peacocks. The second quarter saw a similar offensive performance by the Peacocks. They added 12 points to their score while the Red Foxes added 10. Going into halftime, Saint Peters shot 31.7% field goals and 25% three-pointers.

Coming back from halftime, the Peacocks started the third quarter with a 12 point unanswered scoring drive. Williams added to the score with nine points in the quarter and teammate Kassondra Brown had five points. The Peacocks scored 19 points while holding off the Red Foxes to 11. The fourth quarter saw defensive play by the Peacocks to secure the win against the Red Foxes. Williams scored four points in the quarter which allowed her to score her 1,000th career point.

Saint Peters ended the game winning 58-45 making their overall record 8-9 and improving to 5-3 in conference play. Saint Peters faces Monmouth at home on Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. You can watch the Peacocks on ESPN3.
