Liberty Tops Freedom in Shore Conference Girls Basketball Senior All-Star Game

Manasquan High School hosted the Shore Conference Senior Girls Basketball All-Star game on Wednesday night. Players were divided up into two teams; Liberty and Freedom. Team Liberty came out on top by a final score of 81-73.

This game was a great opportunity for these young talented players from different high schools to be recognized for there great seasons and come together to play in this amazing event that was hosted by Manasquan head coach Lisa Kukoda. The All-Star game had two players each from there respective high schools, and consisted of 20 minutes in the first half and 25 minutes in the second half.

The game had a nice rhythm and flow to it, a lot of talent on the floor at the same time playing there own game. Coaches from both sides made sure every player got an opportunity to get minutes in the game. Like any All-Star game, the players had fun on the court, sharing a few laughs and the energy on the benches was passionate throughout the game.

Awards were give out at halftime, including Coach of the Year awards. Also, some of the players were honored with scholarships. Congrats to the coaches and players that were deservedly honored Wednesday night.

Late in the second half, the game became more intense, with a quicker pace. Both teams were focused,  and started to play defense more. Team Freedom kept making runs but Liberty was able to hold the lead towards the end and complete the victory.

What a way for these seniors to go out with an All-Star appearance before many head off to college and start a new journey. The night was one the players will likely never forget. This game shows how hard the players work to get here, making their family proud and giving them confidence to play with the best.

Shout-Out to the Manasquan High School staff on a fantastic job hosting this special game for these amazing, talented and inspiring young women.

Jersey Sporting News is proud of each an every student-athlete that competed in fall sports.
