Sky Blue FC announced it will open its 2021 Preseason slate with James Madison University, Sunday, March 7. The match will take place behind closed doors at Red Bulls Training Facility, the Official Home Training Facility of Sky Blue.
The club's opponent is coming into Sunday's match-up off a recent draw against Liberty University. James Madison University will look to play the spoiler in this exhibition scrimmage before going up against fellow Colonial Athletic Association member, Towson University on March 14.
"We are pleased to welcome JMU to New Jersey for the first match between our two teams," said Head Coach Freya Coombe. "This will be our first match since last October and we're embracing the challenge that playing a team with a different style than us will bring."
Sky Blue FC won't have long to wait to see if their preseason preparations have paid off, as the NWSL Challenge Cup begins April 9.
