Somerset, NJ -- The Somerset Patriots began their series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Tuesday and it wasn't very long before The Martian launched one to Mars, his first home run of the season to tie the game up in the seventh inning on Tuesday. Despite Jasson Dominguez's low batting average, he is ranked second in the league in stolen bases (seven) and tied for fifth in runs (eight). He later hit a sac fly in the eighth to give the Patriots the lead against Fisher Cats.
Dominguez went 1-for-4 with a home run, a run scored and three runs batted in. After the seventh, the Patriots put on a hitting clinic as they took home a 17-9 victory. Every single player got a hit that night with the exception of Jeisson Rosario, who walked four times.
Top Infield Performers
SS Trey Sweeney - Sweeney has gotten off to a hot start with the bat and on the bases. Sweeney played most of his 2022 playing in High-A Hudson, slashing .241/.350/.415, with 14 HR, 51 RBI and 29 SB. He was invited to Spring Training where he recorded three hits, including a solo home run against Tampa Bay in March. On Tuesday, he went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and a run driven in. This was his second three hit game of the season.
Stats: .297 AVG, 832 OPS, one home run, five runs batted in, three stolen bases
INF Max Burt - He played all of 2022 in Somerset and had a career high in HR (11) and SB (19). In Tuesday's game, Burt went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and four runs scored. He gave the Patriots the early lead with a three-run homer. Burt is off to a red hot start and has been the best hitter in the Yankees' system. He is versatile and can play all infield positions. Burt leads the Patriots with 12 RBI and leads the entire organization in OPS.

3B Tyler Hardman - In 2022, Hardman played in High-A ball and was an offensive leader. He led the team in BA (.262), hits (104), RBIs (79) and HRs (22), as well as OBP and OPS. Hardman currently leads the Patriots with three home runs and has ripped the cover off the ball in the first week of the season. The Yankees' 20th ranked prospect offers versatility playing both first and third base.
Stats: 27 AB, three home runs, seven runs batted in, one stolen base, .185 AVG, 859 OPS
1B T.J. Rumfield - Rumfield played in only 52 games with High-A Hudson Valley after missing 10 weeks from a broken bone in his hand. He slashed .284/.381/.411 in those games with four homers and 34 RBIs. He started getting looks when he played at the Arizona Fall League, slashing .400/.477/,582 over 17 games.
Stats: 25 AB, .219 AVG, .641 OPS, one home run, nine RBIs, one stolen base
Catching Spotlight
C Carlos Narvaez - Narvaez spent all of 2022 in High-A, setting career highs in HR (11) and stolen bases (four.) He was invited to Spring Training where he played 15 games and hit two home runs. In Wednesday's game, he was the DH and went 2-for-3 with a RBI in his first multi-hit game of the season.
Stats: 23 AB, .304 AVG, 1.059 OPS, two home runs, five RBIs, one stolen base
C Anthony Siegler - Siegler spent the majority of his season last year in High-A, where he hit .236/.405/.369 with seven homers and 45 RBIs. Siegler is currently on a six-game hitting streak and gave the Patriots their second lead of the game going 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scores and two RBis.
Stats: 30 AB, .267 AVG, .694 OPS, seven RBIs . He has recorded six singles and two doubles
Rehab Assignments
Josh Donaldson, who is completing his rehab assignment, went 1-for-3 before he was later removed for a pinch runner. Donaldson had an MRI done on Wednesday and will be out of the lineup for an undetermined period of time.
When asked if JD considers himself top third baseman in MLB. "I am challenging myself on a daily basis, I do what I can do to help my team win ball games. If people will view me as one thing or another, hopefully let my play speak for myself."
OF Harrison Bader will also begin a rehab assignment with the Somerset Patriots on Friday per MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.
