Top seven sports venues in New Jersey

New Jersey is known for having some of the best sports venues in the country. From football and soccer to hockey and lacrosse, there is something for every sports fan to enjoy in the Garden State.

It is also home to one of the most successful sports betting sectors in the US. In fact, New Jersey was one of the first states to launch sports betting following the 2018 Supreme Court decision that made this possible. Sports fans located in the New Jersey area are now able to claim NJ sportsbook bonus promotions and bet on sports through a variety of outlets, including some sports arenas.

As a state that loves its sports, there are six pro sports teams in New Jersey along with some of the best sports facilities in the US. Here are seven of the top sports venues to check out:

MetLife Stadium

Technically, New Jersey doesn’t have an NFL franchise, but football fans in the state are able to watch more football games than in any other US location. This is because MetLife Stadium in New Jersey is the home venue for both the New York Jets and the New York Giants. With a capacity of up to 82,500, it is the only NFL stadium that is currently shared by two teams.

Prudential Center

Perhaps the most famous New Jersey stadium is the Prudential Center in Newark. This is the home stadium of the New Jersey Devils NHL team. In addition to seating more than 18,000 fans, it is also used as a popular concert location. It is home to one of the first sports betting lounges to be incorporated into a sports venue.

Red Bull Arena

Soccer may not have the same profile in the US as some other pro sports, but Major League Soccer (MLS) is a growing phenomenon among US sports fans. Despite having never won the MLS Cup, the New York Red Bulls is one of the best-known names in US soccer. The Red Bulls may technically be a New York team, but they play their home games at the 25,000-seat Red Bull Arena in Harrison, a venue that has hosted international soccer games and is regarded as one of the best soccer venues in the US.

Ice House

The Prudential Center may be the most famous ice hockey venue in New Jersey, but the Ice House in Hackensack is almost as significant. Popular with ice hockey fans and players throughout the state, it includes two rinks designed to NHL specifications. It serves as the home venue for several hockey teams in the area and the Devils use it as a training facility.

Sun National Bank Center

There’s deep support for ice hockey in New Jersey. In addition to the Prudential Center and Ice House, there is another popular hockey venue in Trenton. Home to the Trenton Titans, who play in the AA ECHL hockey league, it has a seating capacity of over 8,000 and is among the largest indoor venues in New Jersey.

TD Bank Ballpark

New Jersey does not have an MLB team, and many baseball fans from the state opt to support the Yankees, but there is a New Jersey-based AA team, affiliated with the Yankees. The Somerset Patriots play in the Eastern League. Their home venue is the TD Bank Ballpark, which is a well-known venue for minor league baseball. Holding 7,000 spectators, the stadium is renowned for both its beautiful views and its welcoming ethos that makes for a family-friendly viewing experience.

The Rock Sports Park

It may not host a pro or second-tier sports team, but the Rock Sports Park is an important sports hub in the state. Based in Glen Rock, it is a multipurpose sports center that serves as the home venue for several teams. The Park offers a number of turf playing fields and is a well-used venue by many local and regional sports associations from the worlds of lacrosse, flag football, and soccer.

Summary

Even by the standards of the sports-mad US, New Jersey has more than its share of sports teams and sports venues. Whether you're a fan of football, hockey, soccer or any other sport, there's a venue in New Jersey for you, along with a variety of entertainment and dining options. These top seven sports venues are just a few of the many great options available to sports fans in the Garden State.
