Week 15 Preview: New York Jets face Detroit Lions

It is a must-win situation for the New York Jets this week. Luckily for them, the hapless Detroit Lions are coming to MetLife Stadium this Sunday. It's going to be an easy win...

Wait, the Lions are the hottest team in football winning five out of their last six games and having the fourth-best offense in the league? Oh boy, this isn't going to be easy. Here is a preview.

What To Expect

The Return of QB Zach Wilson

After suffering a rib injury during last week's loss to the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Mike White will not be available to play this Sunday. Come on down Zach Wilson as he will start against the Lions. Before his benching, Wilson was actually 5-2 as a starter before his mouth got him into trouble. Let's hope that Wilson learned his lesson and plays well this Sunday.

Lions Offense is Hot, Defense is Not

The 2022 Detroit Lions are a roller coaster. They currently have the fourth-best offense in the league. However, the Lions' defense is ranked 31st in the NFL. The Jets need to take advantage of this bad defense.

A Change In The Offense?

Zach Wilson is back. How would the offense react?

Just The Facts

Jets Domination

Although they don't meet often, the Jets have won three out of the last four meeting against the Lions. The last time they met was Week One of the 2018 NFL season. The Jets blew them out 48-17.

Lions Bad Defense

As I previously alluded to, the Lions have one of the worst defenses in the league. The Jets need to take advantage of this bad defense.

However The Offense...

The Lions' offense. Don't sleep on them.

Five Big Questions to Ask

  1. How will the offense do under Zack Wilson?
  2. Can the offense take advantage of this bad Lions defense?
  3. Zach Wilson statement game?
  4. Can the Jets' defense hold off this hot Lions offense?
  5. Can the Jets get their mojo back?

Who is on the Injury Report

Questionable: WR Corey Davis (Concussion), DT Quinnen Williams (calf), DE John Franklin Myers (illness)

OUT: QB Mike White (Ribs)

Prediction

I'll keep it simple: Gang Green need to win these next three games. (vs. Lions, vs. Jaguars, at Seahawks) in order to make the playoffs. They are all winnable games. I still believe in Zach Wilson and hopefully, he has learned his lesson from that outrageous press conference after the the Week 10 game against New England. I believe that Wilson will light up this Lions' defense and this will be a shootout. Jets win.

Finals score: Jets 40, Lions 31
